Gaming Strategy of Backgammon
Backgammon is a game for two played on a board with checkers that are moved in accordance with the casting of dice. Originally the board was marked with twelve parallel lines however these lines have been replaced by wedge-shapes points; twelve of which projecting from each player's side of the board.
Play consists of advancing fifteen checkers or "stones" across the points to a certain quarter of the board, known as the player's "home table" whence they are "borne off." The first player to bear off all his stones wins the game. If the loser has failed to bear off a single stone, they are "gammoned" and must pay a double stake. If the loser has any stone outside his home table when the other player has borne off their last piece, they are "backgammoned" and lose a triple stake.
The two players move their checkers in opposite directions along the same course of twenty-four points. Rule governing collision provide that any number of stones of one color may rest on a point; that no stone may rest or touch upon a point occupied by two or more diverse stones; that a single stone on a point is a blot and if hit by an adverse stone landing upon the same point is sent "to the bar," i.e., must begin again as though from twenty fifth point farthest away from the owners home table.

In priming there are several factors you have to consider and these are:
1) Position of the trapped checkers - Remember that checkers behind the prime have more chances of escaping than the ones further back.
2) Opportunity to advance checkers - A checker that can advance has always the higher chances of winning. If you don't have the chance or the luxury of advancing your prime the best way you can do is start breaking up their prime to move on to the game.
3) Is the prime big? - A four-prime block has slimmer chances than a five-prime, while a six-prime block prevents the challenger from advancing.
In hitting the opponent, the player must remember to check if it's the best option, it's best if they can find two checkers to hit instead of one so reevaluating moves will be a healthy strategy.
